Woman Says Her Husband Waited Until the Last Minute to Get Ready for Church Again, So She Left With the Kids Without Him and Now He’s Giving Her the Silent Treatment

A woman says she finally stopped waiting for her chronically late husband — and now he’s angry about it.

After years of dealing with his last-minute habits, she decided to leave on time with their kids instead of waiting while he got ready.

Now he’s refusing to speak to her, and she’s wondering if she crossed a line.

A Pattern of Always Running Late

The woman, 34, explained that her husband, 39, has a long-standing habit of poor time management.

According to her, he’s almost always running late for things, including work appointments for his own business.

Usually she ignores it because it doesn’t affect her schedule.

But when they’re supposed to go somewhere together, the pattern becomes frustrating.

She says he frequently waits until the very last minute — sometimes when she and their children are already fully ready — before even stepping into the shower.

The Plan They Agreed On

The issue came to a head one Sunday morning.

A mutual friend had just welcomed a new baby, and the couple agreed the night before that they would visit after church.

Their friends live about an hour away, so leaving directly from church would shorten the drive.

The plan required them to leave home together early enough to get to church on time.

This was especially important because the woman volunteers at church and is expected to arrive by 9:30 a.m.

A Morning That Didn’t Go As Planned

That morning, she woke up at 7 a.m. to get herself and their two children ready.

Her husband woke up around 8 a.m., but stayed in bed scrolling on his phone while she prepared everything.

As the clock approached 9 a.m., she assumed he had changed his mind about leaving together.

Then, just as she was about to leave, he suddenly said he would jump into the shower quickly so they could go together.

But by that point, she felt she had already waited long enough.

She reminded him that he’d had nearly an hour to get ready and told him she wasn’t willing to be late.

She Left Without Him

Her husband apparently thought she was joking.

He got into the shower — and she drove off anyway.

After church ended, she noticed he hadn’t shown up and called to offer to drive home so they could still go visit their friends together.

But he declined.

Instead, he told her he wasn’t interested in going anymore because she left while he was in the shower.

She ended up visiting the friends with their children alone.

The Silent Treatment

Since the incident, she says her husband has been giving her the silent treatment.

She believes she might have upset him by leaving while he was getting ready.

At the same time, she feels frustrated that he ignored the plan they had agreed on the night before.

Now she’s wondering whether she was wrong to finally leave without him.

Why Many Readers Said She Was Just Setting a Boundary

Many readers believed the situation wasn’t really about the shower — it was about respecting agreed-upon plans.

“You didn’t leave him behind. He chose not to be ready.”

Others said consistently leaving on time may be the only way to deal with someone who refuses to respect schedules.

“He caused you to leave without him by making no effort to cooperate.”

A Lesson in Time — and Consequences

For the woman, the situation reflects a bigger frustration she’s dealt with for years.

She says she tries hard to stay organized and on time, especially with two kids to manage.

After this incident, she’s wondering whether leaving on time instead of waiting might be the only way to break the pattern — even if it leads to uncomfortable moments like this one.
