Pool Hall Jerk Stole a Billiard Ball and Kept Hijacking the Table All Night, Then Three Calls to Highway Patrol Turned His Drive Home Into the Real Last Call

This story dates back about 20 years, to the mid-2000s, when a group of friends would regularly visit a cozy billiards place in a neighboring town. Renting a table by the hour or playing per game, they enjoyed a few rounds while catching the latest sports on TV and engaging in casual conversations. Everything seemed fine until an unwelcome disturbance colored their nights out.

One fateful night, as the friends occupied their regular table, a newcomer arrived and boldly took over their spot. Initially, they shrugged it off—after all, there were still friendly conversations to be had. But as time passed and the guy continued occupying the table, the friends felt their evening slipping away.

After about 20 minutes, one of them politely approached the guy to let him know they wanted to play the next game. The jerk responded with blatant dismissal, leaving them frustrated and without recourse. With each attempt to negotiate for their turn met with indifference, they watched as others joined in, further trimming their chances to get back to the game they loved.

Finally, the rude player left the table, and the friends seized the moment, dropping their quarters in anticipation. But as the balls were dispensed, one crucial piece was missing—the green “6” ball. It seemed the guy had taken it with him to the bathroom, clearly not caring about the annoyance he was causing.

With irritation creeping in, the friends decided enough was enough and notified the manager. Although it was already 12:30 AM and last call loomed, the manager hesitated to confront the rude patron directly. He offered to replace the missing ball, showing a willingness to ensure the friends could enjoy their evening. Little did the manager know, this was just the beginning of a night filled with unexpected twists.

When the jerk returned, smirking as he emerged from the bathroom, he made a beeline for the patio, dragging along both his beer and the stolen ball. Despite the earlier disruptions, he felt no remorse as he casually tossed the ball onto the table, sending the other balls scattering and further wrecking the friends’ game.

As last call rolled around, one of the friends suggested a mischievous course of action: follow the jerk home and notify the highway patrol to report a suspected drunk driver. Surprisingly, three out of the four friends jumped on board with this plan. With their trusty Nextel push-to-talk phones, they coordinated multiple calls to the police, reporting the driver’s erratic behavior, including weaves across lanes and dangerously close encounters with other vehicles.

As they embarked on this spontaneous mission, one friend volunteered to tail the obnoxious pool player while the others provided details like the car’s license plate, make and model, and color. Though the group didn’t know where the guy lived, they figured he couldn’t be too far, considering he frequented a nearby establishment. Time was of the essence, and they felt the thrill of their unorthodox plan taking shape.

As the relentless calls flooded the highway patrol, the friend trailing the jerk excitedly relayed his updates. Suddenly, they received the news they had been waiting for—a police officer had turned on their lights and pulled the guy over. Giddy with victory, the friends watched as the highway patrolman intervened.

Later that week, the police blotter confirmed that the obnoxious player had been stopped due to multiple reports of erratic driving. Although he wasn’t arrested for DUI, he did face the consequences of driving with a suspended license. It was a fitting end for the pool hall jerk who had disrupted their evening.

In this tale of mild revenge, the friends transformed an annoying encounter into a collective triumph. What began as a fun night turned into a shared story of camaraderie, where they stood together against an unwarranted disruption. Sometimes, even the most mundane outings can lead to unexpected adventures, and in this case, it left a lasting memory of a night that didn’t go as planned but ended with justice in the most delightful way.
