Reality TV Star Has Quietly Sold Her Longtime Hollywood Hills Home for More Than Triple What She Paid a Decade Ago, and the Photos Reveal How Much the Neighborhood Has Changed

Julianne Hough quietly closed the book on her Hollywood Hills home last summer, selling the property for $6.35 million — more than triple the $1.94 million she paid for it back in 2014, according to Fox Business and property records reported by SoapCentral. The “Dancing with the Stars” judge and dancer owned the three-bedroom, four-bathroom property for eleven years before letting it go.

The home was originally listed at $7.95 million in May 2025 through agents Brandon Piller and Joey Ben-Zvi of The Agency, then sold that August for $6.35 million — still leaving Hough with an estimated $4.41 million in profit before transaction costs.

A goodbye posted to her own followers

Hough marked the sale herself, sharing a farewell on her Instagram Stories rather than through a publicist or interview. “Hello and goodbye! How long have I been here? Whoa, I’ve been here for 11 years, since 2014,” she wrote in the post, adding, “Onto the next! Let’s do it,” alongside a note about “so many beautiful memories” made in the house.

Built in 1936 and done in a Mediterranean style, the roughly 3,000-square-foot house sits above the city with views of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory. Its features include a screening room, home gym, outdoor kitchen, bocce ball court, and both indoor and outdoor wood-burning fireplaces — the kind of amenity list that helps explain the enormous jump in value over just over a decade of ownership.

What the listing photos say about the neighborhood

Hough bought the house in January 2014, ahead of her 2017 marriage to hockey player Brooks Laich and their 2022 divorce. She kept the property through the entire relationship and split, and the listing photos taken more than a decade after her purchase show a hillside that’s grown noticeably denser with high-end construction, retaining walls, and infinity-edge pools since she first moved in.

That kind of transformation tracks with the broader arc of Hollywood Hills real estate over the past decade, even as the entry-level end of the market has cooled more recently. Redfin data puts the neighborhood’s current median sale price at $1.8 million, a reminder of just how far above the typical local home Hough’s property had climbed by the time she sold it.

Hough hasn’t said publicly where she’s living now, but her Instagram farewell suggested she’s already settled into whatever came next. For a house she bought as a single 25-year-old before her television and film career fully took off, the sale closes out one of the more understated real estate wins among her reality TV peers — no bidding war headlines, just a quiet transaction that turned under two million dollars into more than six.
