Man Shows One Month in His New Home by Building a Bed Frame, Stocking a Burgundy Wardrobe, Assembling Oak Storage in a Green Tiled Bathroom and Ending in the Living Room

The reel from @drewfromladue starts with a man peeling clear plastic off a round, rust colored ottoman in a sunlit room with a bank of tall windows. His caption sets the terms: “hard to believe it’s been about a month since I moved in! great progress so far but so much to do still.” There is no on screen text in the video. The month is shown through what he does with his hands.

The next few shots are all assembly. He slits the tape on a long cardboard box marked “3719” in a hallway. He kneels to fit a black metal bed frame together on an oak floor under a pitched ceiling, and later smooths a blue striped sheet over the mattress. Before the bed, he works on a metal bracket against a warm, plaster looking wall, with a level in view.

The wardrobe is the video’s showpiece. It is a built in unit in deep burgundy with a strip of light under each shelf and drawers with long steel pulls. Silver suitcases stand in one section. His hand arranges sunglasses and small bottles on a tray, then caps on a shelf with rows of sneakers below.

The bathroom is where most of the flat pack work happens. The walls are green tile, there is a skylight overhead, and the vanity is a warm orange wood. He kneels on the floor over a white framed piece pulled from its packaging, then stands at the sink beside a large mirror cabinet. In a lighter, open room he holds up a pale oak panel from a pile of cardboard, and in the last bathroom shots a tall oak cabinet stands beside the toilet while he sets blue and white bins and folded towels on its shelves, with a rolled striped towel among them. A towel hangs from the handle of a red drawer unit.

The final shot returns to a room with the same bank of high windows as the opening. A curved, rust colored modular sofa, a low coffee table and a green rug fill the floor. The caption says there is “so much to do still,” and the video does not say what is left on the list.

The tall oak cabinet in the bathroom is the one item in the reel that deserves a specific safety step. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Anchor It! campaign says that top heavy furniture should be secured with anti tip brackets, that new furniture comes with anti tip devices that should be installed right away, and that manufacturer instructions should be followed. In a 2025 release marking ten years of the campaign, the agency said that a federal mandatory standard for clothing storage units such as dressers and armoires took effect in September 2023, and that it advises anchoring TVs and furniture such as bookcases and dressers securely to the wall.

The same release adds two simple habits for anything that cannot be anchored yet: keep heavier items on the lower shelves, and do not store toys or remotes up high where a child might climb to reach them. The video does not show whether the cabinet is anchored, and the creator does not mention it.

If you are assembling flat pack storage like the oak cabinet in this reel, anchor it as you go, before the shelves are full of bins and towels. Build the bed and make it first, as he does, so you have somewhere to sleep while the rest goes together.
