All affected units carry date codes from December 2018 through December 2020, printed in YYYYMM format. The brand name “Galanz,” the model number, and the date code appear on a white label on the upper left-hand corner of the back of the unit. The fridges were sold at Home Depot stores nationwide and on Amazon.com.

1. Check the back label immediately. Locate the model number and date code on the white label on the back of the fridge and compare it against the list above.
2. Stop using the refrigerator if it matches. The CPSC notice recommends unplugging an affected unit until repairs are complete, given the documented fire risk.
3. Contact Galanz for a free in-home repair. Per the recall notice, the company is offering a free repair by a qualified technician to correct the defect.
