Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Just Bought a Lakefront Mansion in a Sleepy Ohio Suburb for $5.35 Million, and Neighbors Say Moving Trucks Showed up Before Anyone Even Confirmed the Engagement Rumors

Travis Kelce paid $5.35 million for an eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom lakefront estate in Bratenahl, Ohio, a small suburb just east of downtown Cleveland, closing on the deal in March 2026, according to ESPN. The purchase stayed out of public view for roughly six months until the Wall Street Journal broke the story this week, with News 5 Cleveland and WCPO Cincinnati independently confirming the sale through property records this week.

Large elegant waterfront house with a private dock and boat on a calm lake

The 21,000-square-foot mansion, known locally as “Moyenage,” sits directly on Lake Erie and had been fully renovated by Figurati Construction Group after the firm bought it for $1.95 million in 2023 and relisted it at $6.99 million, per WKYC’s deed research. Kelce ultimately closed below that ask. Records show the tight end’s management company, 3 Arts Sports, retained Cleveland attorney Sam Totino to handle the transaction, a structure WKYC’s reporting suggests was built for discretion rather than speed.

What makes the address notable isn’t the price tag, it’s the zip code. Kelce grew up in Cleveland Heights, less than 15 minutes from the new house, and the purchase lands him back in Northeast Ohio full time even as his football career keeps him tied to Kansas City. Bratenahl’s mayor, Keith Benjamin, told local reporters the tiny lakefront village of roughly 1,000 residents intends to treat its newest homeowners like anyone else. “We take pride in being a welcoming community where people can feel connected to their lives and also feel comfortable enjoying their private lives,” Benjamin said.

The timing has fueled plenty of speculation, since Kelce closed on the Ohio property about four months before he and Taylor Swift married on July 3 in a ceremony CNN covered live. Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025, and by the time the Bratenahl deal closed this spring, the couple was already deep into planning a life that would eventually split time between Kansas City, Nashville and, it now appears, Cleveland’s lakefront suburbs.

Neither Kelce’s representatives nor Swift’s team has issued a statement confirming why the Bratenahl property was purchased or how the newlyweds plan to use it. Bratenahl is an unusual landing spot for a couple this famous: it’s one of Ohio’s smallest incorporated villages, tucked between Cleveland’s eastern city limits and the lakeshore, with a housing stock dominated by early-20th-century estates built for the city’s old industrial money. It’s the kind of place where a moving truck in the driveway is neighborhood news regardless of who’s inside it, which may be exactly the appeal for two of the most photographed people on the planet.

What’s confirmed is the paperwork: a $5.35 million closing, an eight-bedroom house on Lake Erie, and a hometown kid quietly buying his way back home before the rest of the world noticed. The deal closed months before Kelce and Swift’s wedding and roughly a year after their engagement went public, meaning the couple had already settled on Cleveland as part of their future well before most of the speculation about their next chapter even started. For a relationship that has played out largely in stadiums and awards shows, the Bratenahl purchase is a rare glimpse of the two of them making an ordinary, unglamorous decision: buying a house near family, in the town where one of them grew up.
